Everybody involved in it with the exception of Lynx, Coinbase and a few others are approaching it from a pure backend perspective.
Steemit is a great example.
Completely cryptic UX and signup procedure. It worked (to a small degree) within the limited crypto world, but it doesn’t have a mass market UX.
ETH and Consensus is another example.
MetaMask is basically not usable. Neither is uPort. These products are just not at the level of usability for a 2019 user.
I like the performance design of EOS, but I take issue with the idea that ordinary users will ever learn to “stake” anything.
We need something simpler, thought through for ordinary humans, not designed from the bottom up by Network engineers. Stay tuned.
